Highlights

About The Programme

The Prince Summer Programme is a challenging and inspiring Foundation course that prepares international students to further their studies at internationally-renowned British universities. This programme is designed to equip students with academic literacy, skills and knowledge required to successfully tackle an undergraduate degree programme.

The Prince Summer Programme is split into two parts: Part I and Part II, which occurs across two summers in the UK. Students who successfully complete both Parts will be awarded an NQF Level 3 International Foundation Certificate. Students who only complete one part (Part 1 or Part 2) will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.

The Prince Summer Programme provides students with a wide range of opportunities to progress to various highly-ranked universities in the United Kingdom upon the successful completion of the course. Individual universities may specify certain requirements for course progression.

Upon the successful completion of both parts of The Prince Summer Programme, students will be awarded with “The Prince Programme Certificate – NQF Level 3 International Foundation Certificate”. With this qualification, students are then able to apply to various highly-ranked universities in the UK for their undergraduate degree studies. Our high-achieving students have been previously sought after by many Russell Group universities.

We have consistently placed students at the following prestigious universities:

  • King’s College London
  • Queen’s Mary London
  • Durham University
  • University of Birmingham
  • University of Lancaster
  • University of Liverpool
  • University of Leeds
  • University of Sheffield
  • University of Nottingham

Experience Incredible Events/Activities

The British Firework Championships were started in 1997 by The Event Services Association (TESA), a trade body representing the outdoor events industry in the UK. The displays are best viewed from Plymouth Hoe – and best of all, it’s totally free to attend.

Each year six professional display companies are selected by draw to take part – three on each evening of the event -and every sixth year there is a Champions event when winners from the previous five years (plus the previous Champion-of-Champions winner) return to battle it out for the overall title Champion-of-Champions.

The Prince Summer Programme allows students to prepare for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Programme by arranging participants to follow a series of summer activites. Participants will attend these sessions on 4 different Saturdays, as taster sessions to the actual Duke of Edinburgh Programme activities. The sessions cover the following categories:

  • VOLUNTEERING Participants will participate in services that contribute to individuals or the community.
  • PHYSICAL Participants are given the opportunities and resources to improve in either sports, dance or other fitness activities.
  • SKILLS The programme provides a conducive environment to develop participants’ practical and social skills, and personal interests.
  • EXPEDITION Participants are to take part in the planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey in Plymouth.

Though these activities are insufficient to fulfil the full requirements of the actual Duke of Edinburgh’s Programme for the Bronze Level, it is considered as an introduction to the DofE. This taster course recognises adolescents and young adults who complete these self-improvement activities.

DofE is delivered in around 130 countries so there is a possibility that a participant could start their DofE at UK and then finish their Award in another country (as long as DofE is offered there!).

Make the most of being in Britain’s Ocean City by getting out on the water. There’s a huge range of activities you can enjoy at the Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre. From sailing to stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking to multi adventure days, to simply enjoying breakfast, coffee, cakes or lunch in The Lookout, there’s something for everyone at the Mount Batten Centre.

Wembury Marine Centre is part of Devon Wildlife Trust and aims to educate and promote wildlife issues. It is the ideal place to learn about the surrounding area and its wildlife through interactive displays, aquaria and regular rockpool rambles. The Centre also explains the part you can play in keeping Wembury special. The centre runs regular events throughout the season. Including its famous rockpool rambles, educational presentations, walks and art workshops. There is something for everyone!!!!

What better way to finish a school day than a ride on the beach in beautiful sunshine??

The Wembury Bay Riding School yard sits at the end of a lane overlooking the Atlantic ocean to the South West with views to the Mewstone, Rame Head and on a fine day to the famous Eddystone lighthouse and beyond.

The yard sits in 50 acres of woodland and grazing in the heart of an area designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, bounded on 2 sides by National Trust land. You can join an organised hack through their woodlands, bridle paths or gallop along the coastal path taking in the fresh air and views as you go.

Bush Farm is a friendly and welcoming destination offering Wild Camping giving you the option to pitch up anywhere on the 200 acre farm, allowing you to get maximum peace and quiet and fully immerse yourself in the camping experience!

Choose between the main camping area with optional electric hook-ups for tents and tourers, find a spot within the woodlands or pitch up by the lakeside and take in the scenery by the River Lynher. BBQs are allowed onsite and recycled firewood is sold here allowing you to get the campfire sizzling!

Dogs welcome.
